Cradled deep in Kingwood is a strange, glowing portal with an indescribable scent. Stepping through the portal brings you to a world thick with pyreflies - colorful, wispy fragments of departed souls. They congregate here, beneath a bright moon and whispering over a giant waterfall and fields of red flowers. If a living person enters the farplane and remembers someone who has died, their memory may cause the pyreflies to react, producing a still-life image of the dead. While it cannot move or react, some find small comfort in speaking to these hollow images.

Led through the mist by the milk-light of moon, all that was lost is revealed... The Unknown is a thick, deep forest that exists within Kingwood - though once in, it is very difficult to find your way out again, though if you stay on the path to Conde Petie you should be fine. At night, the moon always seems half-full, and there are a number of strange and dangerous creatures lurking within the depths, in between the mysterious and foreboding Edelwood trees. And, if you listen hard to the silence of the wood, you can sometimes hear the ominous singing of a creature known only as the Beast. Children that have strayed off the path have known to be lost forever, so stories about this Beast have been emerging in both Conde Petie and Yggdrasil. Still, it is a beautiful place, where the strange and surreal can become real... and if dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?
NPC encounter rate is extremely high here. Staff will be watching all open threads and may throw any inhabitant of the Unknown - benign or malicious - upon unwary passersby at any time.
